We offer comprehensive fee-only financial planning that ensures all areas of your finances and goals are reviewed. We believe that a holistic approach to analyzing your goals and finances works best to help achieve your goals. The following outlines our process for conducting the initial review and for completing a comprehensive financial plan.
First, we start by meeting to discuss your financial goals and objectives. During this meeting, we discuss your financial goals as they relate to retirement, debt management, disability/risk management, charitable planning, estate planning, and investment management. The following are examples of common financial goals that are addressed during this meeting:
•
Am
I saving enough money to retire when I want to?
•
How can I pass my assets on to my children with the least amount of estate
taxes?
•
Is my current portfolio allocated correctly for my risk tolerance and
future goals?
•
How can I lower the amount of taxes I owe at the end of the year?
•
What is the best way to setup an educational savings account for my children?
During this meeting, we will also make suggestions for any additional areas that you did not mention to ensure that a complete comprehensive assessment of your finances is made. This discussion will create an outline for which financial areas you would like to have reviewed.
In order to ensure you reach your goals, we need to have an accurate assessment of your current financial situation. During this step, you will be asked to provide details about your current financial situation such as current investment allocations, income, and expenses.
Next, we start the analysis portion of the planning to determine how to best meet your financial goals. In doing so, we will conduct an analysis of all the areas of your finances and then develop a comprehensive financial plan to address each financial goal. This financial plan will provide you with a road map that describes the specific steps that are needed in order to achieve your goals.
After we develop the financial plan, we will meet with you to present all of our recommendations. We will discuss each recommendation in detail and mutually decide if there should be any revisions to the plan. After the financial plan is finalized, we will then develop a timeline for implementing each step.
The final step is ongoing and entails monitoring the progress of implementing the financial plan. We will schedule review sessions to evaluate the progress towards achieving your goals and objectives. Over time, modifications can be made to the financial plan to adapt to changes in personal situations, family circumstances, tax laws, economic conditions, and other circumstances.
We understand that not all clients require a comprehensive financial plan. For that reason, we also work on specific targeted areas of your finances for a rate of $150 an hour. For example, if you only need to have your 403(b) reviewed and you did not need a comprehensive review of all of your finances, we can work on an hourly rate to conduct an analysis of your 403(b).
